Letter 14 Feb 1853 from Marco to Cesare Archive no 827
Brussels
14 Feb 1853
Dear Old Chap
A family matter requires your presence in Brussels for a few hours. Please try, therefore, to obtain some leave for Wednesday next, 16th inst; arrange things so that your employer cannot complain in any way; in other words, you must ask as nicely as possible if they would be kind enough to allow you to be absent. Make sure you are with me at 10 o’clock precisely; then you will be able to leave in the afternoon. Don’t forget, and believe me always
Your affectionate father
